Following Trends

There’s a trend happening with wedding photography. Maybe you’ve seen it. Photographers are overexposing when they shoot to get a fairly washed out effect. It’s not a look that I particularly like, but then again, I generally shoot a half stop underexposed to get a darker, grittier look. HOWEVER. The overexposed look is something that I’m seeing more and more of. Perhaps because it tends to wash out most imperfections and give the subjects a beautiful, soft look; especially when the photo is shot during golden hour. So, I figured that I would jump in on the action today and see what I could come up with. While I don’t usually go for this style, I do kind of like how this portrait turned out. And, if anything, now I know I can handle wedding photography.
